Discover why we are the leading career exploration platform!

" allows students to explore career options through the eyes of industry experts without leaving their classrooms or homes. Whether they are in 6th grade just learning about various careers or in high school truly investigating and researching careers, this tool helps them see the day-to-day lives of actual company employees and highlights not only their daily tasks, but what type of skills they use and their pathways to achieving their careers. The tools puts a personal touch and actually allows students to understand the careers better.

Students can also watch the videos at home with their parents/guardians and have key conversations around topics such as: Would I like a career like this? What type of post-secondary school would I like to attend? Do I need to earn an industry credential in high school? What types of classes do I need to take in high school to prepare me for this career? This tool is available to all students 6-12 grade students in Buncombe County Schools and we are thrilled to partner with Virtual Job Shadow to build a bank a local careers videos so students in our area can see what they can do when they graduate without leaving Buncombe County. It really is a win-win for everyone."

"Our teachers and students have been excited to use this program. Since we require that all students enrolled in our Career and Technical programs complete a job shadowing experience, we wanted all of our Career and Technical Educational instructors to have access to this program. So many of our young people do not have private transportation available to them for job shadowing, and Oklahoma City has a limited public transportation system. A solution for us was to offer as an alternative to traditional job shadowing. It does not require transportation or days missed from school. It allows students to access "job shadow" careers that would not typically be available to them. allows students to shadow many different careers within the career exploration process."

In September 2010, the Office of Regional Services at the South Carolina Department of Education launched a partnership to provide all middle and high school students access to their catalog of virtual job shadowing profiles ( through the Personal Pathways to Success Web portal.

As a result of this partnership, all schools in our state are better prepared to meet the Education and Economic Development Act (EEDA) requirement that every student has an opportunity to participate in an extended/work-based learning experience prior to graduating.

To date we have been very pleased with this partnership. Career counselors, along with other educators, have expressed appreciation for having the profiles available to their schools. Recent data indicate that students from every region in the state view one or more virtual job shadowing profiles on a regular basis. According to survey results, students believe that the profiles provide them with the information necessary to make more informed career decisions.

(Strivven Media) is a valued partner in the Personal Pathways to Success initiative; and their product,, is an invaluable career exploration resource.
